Boulder Wyoming Badminton Challenge

This weekend the fifth Boulder Wyoming challenge took place in Laramie.  I don't normally play this event but I was pressed into action as Boulder was short of players.

I was lucky to have a good partner and Boulder managed to win nearly all their games, so we brought the trophy home again.

For video of the games you can check out youtube...

While I was there, checked out the Varsity sports board and saw they have an event called 'Tube Water Polo'  Seems that sports are different now than in my day

Quick Update

We've been back in the US for nearly 3 weeks and it's been a LOOONGG time since i updated. So, let me just give a quick update.

We left the Philippines on April 1st and then we flew to Singapore for 4 days. My parents came to see us there and we spent 3 hectic days visiting the Singapore Zoo and a few other touristy sights like the Singapore Flyer and Universal Studio. After that, we said some teary goodbyes to my parents and Cody's yaya(sniff, sniff) and scarily(at least for me) started our long trek back to the US and somehow survived it!!

First week was particularly tough as the kids were sick and NOT eating. Between feeding, shopping, looking for daycare, getting ready to work, cleaning and cooking i was almost immobile from not knowing what to do first!! But it got easier once i accepted the fact, my maids are not around anymore!!! ha!!

I started work at Western Digital as a contractor the following Monday and both the boys were sent to daycare. I was slightly worried about Cody's readiness for daycare but as usual, it's just us adults being over thinking it! They were fine!!! Cody still cries quite a bit when he's being dropped off and picked up(yes, pick up too). But i remember Tyler used to do it at this age. So, might be an age thing.

Alan is still working for the same company and is currently working from home and is taking on lots of the kids related activities like eating, shuttling to daycare and visits to the parks and rec centers. :)

So, i think we've settled in quite well and we're back to our old house, driving our old cars, using our old cell phones, back in our old jobs and hanging out with our old friends!! So, it's just like we never left!! :) Of course, our friends back home made it so easier to slip back into the mode by helping us big time with moving our stuff back into the house and stocking our fridge before we even got home!!!

Anyways, so now that we're more settled, i will try to get a few more updates up! And just in case you're wondering.. yes, i miss you guys in the Philippines too!!!

Two boys in a fire truck

We are back in the US, and on a trip to the local supermarket, both Cody and Tyler spotted a firetruck that they wanted to be driven around in.

Universal Studios Singapore

While we were in Singapore we did a day trip to Universal Studios in Singapore with Tyler.   The park seems half finished with a lot of rides not yet open, and parts of the park having no rides.

We rode/saw theKing Julien Merry go round, Enchanted Airways (Tyler's first roller coaster), Shrek 4D, magic potion spin, Donkey live, Canopy Flyer, Dino Soarin, Treasure hunters, monstro city and Cyclon

Tyler had a chance to ride his first roller coaster and when it first started off I couldn't describe his face/reaction other than to say it wasn't really fear, but more what is going on.  He did seem to enjoy it though and we did ride the rollercoaster more than once.

We also met quite a few characters from various movie sets..

Here is a picture of us outside the entrance

Waiting to Pee

About half the time, Tyler tells us he needs to pee, the other half he looks like the boy in the picture and we ask him if he needs to go or not !!

We spotted this picture when we visited the Singapore Flyer on our way home to the US

Singapore Flyer

When we were in Singapore we did a of tourist activities, one that was really cool was riding the Singapore Flyer and seeing how Singapore has changed.  Siew Gin and I have ridden the London Flyer, so this was our second giant ferris wheel.

Siew Gin managed to miss getting on the same capsule as us, so we had to take pictures of each other and the sites.

We did get a group photo of everyone together and it was a great experience to see all the new buildings and Singapore changes.
