Bowling Night for the boys

The boys were invited by one of Tyler's classmates to a bowling evening.  Three families took part, the Millsers were triumphant.

Looks like we will have to do this again.

Dressing up for Chinese New Year

It was a snowy night. Seems like that is all we have had in Colorado in February, when we traveled down south for a Chinese New Year Meal.  The food was good, and Tyler and Cody dressed up for the occasion.  You can see from the pictures below who embraces their heritage the best..

Tyler Class Project

Tyler had a class project to make for the silent auction at school.  The whole class worked on making a Harry Potter chess set, which actually turned out rather well.

Pancake Night

Siew Gin volunteered to make pancakes, and Tyler and Cody volunteered to help.  Luckily things went well and no major disasters.  Both the boys enjoyed pancakes as well as their dad.

Let the cooking begin!

Just one last pancake!

Tyler gets 3 PB's and 1 DQ

Tyler took part in the 2015 8 and under Winter special swim meet today.  He improved his times on 3 out of 4 events, would have been four if he hadn't been DQ'd on his last butterfly stroke.

His team won overall, and he swam very well.

3 podium finishes

Cody and Tyler at School together

Tyler had another day off school, so he and I dropped off Cody at his school and stayed for a while to check out the cool things that Cody does.

Alas, there are only 3 working arms in the box

Tyler gets an excellent conference report

Tyler had his school conference this week.  He scored really highly (99th percentile), and he got to explain what he has been doing for the last 100 days at school.

On the way out he showed me his picture and writing about what he would be doing when he was 100.  This was mainly explaining how he wouldn't be able to drive, and would probably have no hair, and could watch TV all day and eat popcorn.  I guess I must be a great role model.

While Mummy is away, the boys will eat

Siew Gin took a few days off to ski with her friends, and so I was left in charge with strict instructions to make sure the boys ate and then ate some more.

We had a fairly relaxing time, visiting Baker Street Pub for fish and chips for Tyler, and visiting the Egg & I for scrambled eggs for Cody.  In between we had movie night and a visit to the Broomfield Depot museum to check out the day that a train hit a Kellogs cornflakes delivery truck a 100 years ago.

Tyler and his art project - Pinch Pot

Tyler brought home his pinch pot today. Which consisted of taking some clay, pinching it into a pot like shape, then getting it painted and kilned..

Quality work

Cody and his art projects

Nearly every day, Cody brings home some sort of art project from school. When I picked him up today he was walking out of the classroom with the toolbox he had made.

That is my Tool Box!

100 Days of School

Tyler was off sick for about 2 weeks, and one of his projects when he was at home was to make something to celebrate a 100 days of school.

Not sure he made the most effort, but at least we had something on the day.

Cody and Tyler enjoy their Kumon spoils

Over the winter break, the Kumon school offered an incentive to the kids to complete their homework.  The prize was a gift card for Dairy Queen, and this week we got a chance to go there after Cody had his swim team and get a hot dog and ice cream.

Here they are enjoying their prize.
