Tyler gets his art selected for district art show

Tyler is not known for his great works of art, but on Friday he came home and told us that one of his art pieces had been selected to be shown in the district art show.

We were pleasantly surprised when we went to the exhibit to find his teacher there explaining why she had chosen his work. Its all down to his layered approach apparently.

Cody Passes Kumon Reading CI

April 15th 2014, Tyler passed Kumon Reading C1. Almost 2 years to the day, Cody also passed C1.

Tyler scored higher marks, but slower. Cody the reverse!

Coyote on my morning run

I went for a run on the dry creek trail this morning. Just before I set off I happened to notice a coyote roaming the area.  Took a quick picture, then went for a run after he wandered off.

Digging out stumps

We lost a tree with the recent blizzard, so that left a total of 3 stumps that had to be removed, 2 old ones and a new one.  It took a couple of days and digging, cutting, levering, but now we have all the stumps out and we can plant new trees.

The biggest stump

Mazzola's Miracle Fun Run/Walk

We ran the Mazzola mile today.  This is a free 1 mile race that we have entered a couple of times.  Siew Gin was ill for the previous couple of days, but dragged herself out of bad to run the race.
Tyler was given permission to run ahead and managed to land himself on the podium with a top 3 finish so he got to meet Frank Shorter (Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist).

At the start!
