Week 35 - a flurry of activities

I guess we can now start the countdown - 5 more weeks to go.....

Well, unfortunately after getting back from our perfect romantic weekend, i ended feeling sick and what started as a little nausea turned into 12 hrs of puking. It was about 4 am on Monday that i finally felt a little better. Spent the next few days recuperating and was horrified to find that i lost 6 lbs during that little stint. All water I'm sure. I found there was something worse about being sick.. that's being sick AND pregnant.

So, this weekend after I've regained my eating ability, we've finally got a free weekend to work on some more baby stuff and also to start getting my stuff ready just in case Joey decides to pop early. I started my list of stuff to pack and unpacked all the baby things that we've already bought but haven't unwrapped. After doing that, we felt a little better as i think we've got most stuff that's essential. Just a few more little things which we went off to buy on Sunday. I also managed to buy myself a robe and some nightgowns for my hospital stay. Why don't they sell nicer nightgowns??

Anyways, we've finally pushed on and "finished up" the baby room, pictures has been post in another blog entry. We even managed to clean up the guest bedroom that has been a storage area for stuff that used to be in the baby room, and making more space in the basement.

In other words, we've been busy. But in the midst of all these, we also managed to sneak in a social event which was Sabrina's 30th birthday party.

Anniversary Week - week 34

September 20th was our 4th wedding anniversary! I took Alan out for a French meal in Denver. It was nice to go out and have a meal which made me think about the last time we went out for night out at a fancy restaurant. The last i could remember was his birthday in March!!! Geez...
Then during the weekend, my darling husband whisked me away to Evergreen to stay at this romantic, cute getaway cabin-like hotel, where we frittered away our days and nights doing absolutely nothing. We figured it could be our last chance to do something so wasteful! He did managed to persuade me to take a walk around this dam that nearly killed my back. But it was lovely to be out. Here are some pictures:

Another week down..

Week 33 came and went and unfortunately Joey's room not any closer to completion due to our hectic schedule last weekend. Between Alan's running race, photoshoot with our friends Veronica and Adam, party at Suan's, jewelry shopping at Trice on Saturday and baby class and badminton on Sunday, the weekend sorta just ran away from us.

Anyways, photoshoot. I've always wanted to get some maternity pictures taken. So, when my friend Veronica suggested that her husband took some pictures of us near the Flatirons, off we went.
It was a beautiful Saturday, Veronica and I hauled our big bellies up this little hill in Boulder to perch on a rock to have our pictures taken. We took turns to take pictures of each other and after 2 hrs, with 200+ pictures, we retired to The Brewing Company for a cool drink and to criticize our double chins and fat belly. We haven't got our pictures from Adam yet from the weekend but here are some that Alan took on the side with our camera.

Additionally, Alan and I also approached a photographer in Boulder to take "professional" photographs of us. We did that on Monday and I'm not sure whether it was miscommunication or what, but i ended up prancing around her garage with no clothes on, wrapped only in tulle for about 80% of my time there!!! Can't wait to see the pictures in 2-3 weeks!

What we've been up to...

For the last 2 weeks, I've been crazy busy at work and haven't had a chance to update our blog like i meant to, so I'm doing a little catching up. We were at my company's picnic do this weekend for a few hours and here's a picture of me looking all "prosperous" at 32 weeks. I thank those people who keep saying to me, "Wow, you haven't put on any weight anywhere else!". I would be totally convinced if not for the occasional reality check with cameras!! I guess if there was a good time to look fat, it would be now!

Anyways, we also put away some time to do some baby stuff. We went out and got a carpet cleaner and gave Joey's room's carpet a good shampooing. With that done, we hope to start assembling the room and put up some pictures to show you(hopefully next week!!). We finally got the crib and dresser for the room.

Oh, and we had our Child Birth Preparation class too. Can't say we learnt a great deal of things but there were some good information, horrifically graphic videos that left me with some thoughts to consider, like the use of doulas. Alan did a good job keeping his face straight during the breathing relaxation part of the class!!

Our tree hit by lightning

I was looking out the window one day(about a week ago) and saw the most bizarre sight. Our maple tree looked like it was peeled like a banana, looking all naked and there were barks all over our garden about 30 ft away.

Alan and I were instantly intrigued and went to check it out. We decided that it was probably hit by lightning. Alan even sent a picture to the Broomfield newspaper and got published! Man, all these exposure in the newspaper, we're getting a little too famous!!

As promised, my troll haircut

This picture has provided many moments of entertainment for those who happened to peruse through my childhood album. From the 4-D ultrasound, Joey might suffer the same plight.
