Las Vegas Trip Day 5

We took a trip to Red Rocks canyon close to Las Vegas on our final day.  This is a 13 mile one way drive with a number of stop off's to hike.  We did get to see a waterfall and a few other things, but Las Vegas appeared to be in the middle of a tornado, so it was chilly and windy.

In the afternoon, we headed back to Las Vegas and did our last stop to the Stratosphere. Visibility wasn't great, but we did get to eat ice cream.

Las Vegas Trip Day 4

We started the morning by driving to a ghost town, which also featured an abandoned mine. This was the highlight of the trip for me as the tour was interesting and there wasn't a casino in sight. After the tour we headed to the river which was close by, and then finished the day in the evening by riding the Linq high roller

Las Vegas Trip Day 2

After stopping overnight in Cedar City, we drove through Las Vegas to Hoover dam.  We got to check out the dam, do a dam tour, and take some pictures from memorial bridge.

We finished off the day, by having lunch (and ice cream) in Boulder city, before heading back to Las Vegas to check into the Excalibur hotel ready to explore Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Trip Day 1

The boys had a week off school for spring break, so I took them to Las Vegas.  We set off Saturday afternoon, staying in Grand Junction, then on Sunday morning, it was a quick 2 hour drive to Canyonlands National Park.  We explored the area, checking out the arch and the giant upside down dome.

St Patrick's Day

One of our children dressed up for St Patrick's day this year. The other not so much.  We did get to party in the evening and eat shepherd's pie at Damith and Sabrina's house, where there was a lot more green.
