Some funny videos of the kids

Pictures can say a thousand words but video conveys it even better. Here are some recent videos of the boys having fun! Lucky for us, they seem to enjoy cheap fun!

Here's a video of them jumping into leaf piles

Learning to fence and saying "en guard"

Pumpkin carving

Just like baking Christmas cookies, we managed to leave it till almost the last minute to do it. So, we had to do it on a week night.

Since the kids picked their own pumpkins, they were both quite excited to carve it(ok, let their parents carve it). And since they have an attention span of 15 minutes, we had some simple designs to pick from.

Tyler was actually brave enough to dig out the innards of the pumpkins and quite enjoyed it but Cody thought it was "eewwwyyy". Anyways, 15 mins later, we have some carved pumpkins!!

Pikes Peak Tournament

Despite a super late night at Uyen's, we managed to dig ourselves out of bed at some crazy hours the next morning to drive to Monument for the Pikes Peak Badminton Tournament!!

Tyler was playing with Alan again but none of the Millsers managed to get any medal... :(

Oh well.. next time..

I bought Tyler some real sports attire!!

Halloween Party at the Heides

As if Saturday wasn't hectic enough, after we get home from Olivia's party, we had to rush to get to the next party! After a quick change of costume and make up, we arrived at the Heide's late but was relieved that we were far from being the latest!!

Anyways, it was fun night and we can't believe the Heides have once again walked off with another pot of our money in the game of Left Right and Center!!!

Here comes the Millsers

The kids attend Olivia's Party

It's only taken 5 years for our kids to start to play with our neighbor kids. But they've managed to get close enough to get a birthday party invitation! Yay!!

Olivia had a lovely Arielle the Mermaid party. Her mum had pulled all the stops with food and cake and decorations. The kids had tons of fun! But you can see the huge difference between the boys and girls at this party. The girls decorated art work and stared at Arielle while the boys just jumped around the inflatable castle and ran around the garden!

Cody did in the end get pulled into listening to Arielle's story. Was very funny to see him sitting on the edge trying to hear what she was saying!!

Tyler tries skating

After watching the Denver Cutthroats play, I had asked if Tyler wanted to learn how to skate and he said yes. I was very excited and got him a relatively cheap class to learn how to skate. To make it more fun, i even got his friend Matthew to come!

The structure of the class was a little weird and Tyler got into a 2-person class with another little girl who apparently didn't do much apart from making weird animal noises(according to Tyler).

It was a short 30 min class in which Tyler learned to stand and move a short distance and he tells me he likes it!!!

Happy to see his buddy!!

Halloween Carnival in Hulstrom

Tyler's school was having a carnival for Halloween. Again, as i don't do drop off OR pick up, i thought it would be a good opportunity to go see his school, meet his friends etc. But it turns out, Tyler is very bad at PR. I didn't actually get to know any more people than i already did. But i did find out his friends all call him "Tyler M" as there another "Tyler H" in the class.

Cody also had his Halloween event at his school, so Alan and I divide and conquered for that night. But as Sabrina was having her baby, we had Siobhan with us!! It was fun to get to try to dress a girl for a change! I braided her hair and she even wore my tutu that Evelyn made for me a few years ago. Had to make some modification!!

The Halloween party was quite the zoo that even I found overwhelming. We had to queue up for two things and i ended up going to the next booth and gave all my tickets away in exchange for some hair feathers just so we can get out of there!

But as usual, the kids had a good time.

This is how i look cool in my school, Siobhan

Oooh.. candy..

Another day out with Cody

Cody had his second day off school on Monday, so he go to spend the day with Daddy again..

We went to the butterfly pavilion to check out Rosie the Tarantula, see a few thousand bees and poke a starfish or two..

Cody was quite interested in the exhibits, but told me that the fire museum was more exciting, but he did do a good job of letting Rosie the spider run over his hand..

We finished the trip off with Chicken and rice, and a trip to the ice arena..

Ready to see some real butterlies

Is that a spider in your hand?

Check out the butterfly

How hard can it be to be a spider?

More chicken please

My horse is very slow

I prefer ice skating to ice hockey!

Cody attends Jett's party

Cody's friends are starting to host birthday parties and we got to go to one of them this weekend. It was Jett's party. Since i don't usually do the drop off and pick up runs, i have no clue who Jett is. Cody says to me, "He is very fast because his name is Jet!"

Anyways, the party was at Little Gym and when we got there, Cody went into a super shy mode and refused to participate. I had to drag him along the floor and sing quite a few crazy songs and throw "trash" like a demented woman before he was FINALLY ready to do stuff on his own.

Once he got into it, he enjoyed himself tremendously and had a grand time!

But i have to say, the height of the party was the cupcakes. Holy moly! Best cupcakes ever! Peanut butter and jelly cupcakes. And of course i did get the name of the bakery!!

So, here are some pictures of Cody at the party(no, Tyler stayed home)

Who names their ice hockey team after a fish?

Ice hockey, the game where men fight, pucks can kill and the inspiration for one of the funniest movies of all time Slapshot.

So when we got some free tickets to see the  Denver Cutthroats I was excited that blood and mayhem would ensue with a name like the cutthroats.

Siew Gin on the other hand took great delight in telling me they were named after a fish and their mascot was called Gil.

We did get to ride on a Zamboni, alas not on the ice, and get our picture taken with a pirateFish, and see a few minor fights.  Tyler enjoyed the ice hockey, Siew Gin enjoyed the Nachos and Cody counted down the clock until he could go home.

All in all not a bad night out.

It's my turn to drive

Go Fish !!

That is one scary mascot

Can we go home yet?

At least one mascot is scary!

A day out with Cody

Cody had a day off from school today, so we went to the Fire Museum.  On the way we also did a number of other stops..

First stop of the day was the Denver Money Museum  After getting through the security checks we got to see what $30,000,000 looks like (surprisingly small), and make our own money!!

Then it was off for a mall bus ride on the way to the fire museum.

Cody spent some time squirting the hose and driving the fire truck before constructing his own set of buildings using the blocks.

Next stop was the blue bear, which is just like its name suggests, a big blue bear.

Just before we journeyed home, we rode the bus once more to the train station to check out the trains and the bridges before Cody announced he was tired and was ready to nap.

Big Money Shot

Really big money shot
