Another Snowstorm, Another Snowman

The kids asked me to make another Snowman for them, and they insisted that we went traditional and used sticks, stones and carrots.

One Carrot too many?

Visiting the Aquarium(again)

The boys requested that we go visit the Denver Aquarium. As they've been there many many times, i wasn't too enthusiastic about it. But i couldn't suggest a better place, so, off to the Aquarium we went. I figured i can maybe work on my photography.

I did manage to catch a few things i've never seen before which were the Mermaid experience and the shark feeding session. The kids were also more willing to touch different creatures which was a plus!

After lunch, we went to our favorite Middle Eastern restaurant and enjoyed a nice meal.

Hats for 2013

I love hats! And luckily for me, the boys seem to like it too. So, each year i try to get them to wear some cool hats.

I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't put up a fight to wear these newly acquired hats!! They even asked me to buy it!!

100 Days of Running

I have been running every day since the 1st of January, so today was my 100th day.  So far this year I have managed to run 267 miles (a little over 10 equivalent marathons) and burn 36,988 calories.

Bubble Snow

Monday night was supposed to be a huge snowstorm, but it turned out to just be a few inches of snow.  It was very cold however, and when we woke up this morning we got a chance to see very rare bubble snow..

They are still alive!!

Miraculously the plants that we started off a few months ago have not died and in fact, some of them are beginning to flower!! Tyler's plants are currently in the lead and he's very pleased about that. Cody seemed quite content to be no. 2 while i'm seriously hacked that my plants are NOT showing signs of growth!!

Here are the plants

Cody's swimming

Cody's swimming is finally coming along and he's able to swim some distance if he's not fooling about. Here are some videos of his progress.

Cody Cycling

As the weather gets nicer, i've been taking the kids(mainly Cody as Tyler whines a lot) to the park to work on their cycling. It's great to see that they get better quite quickly though they can't quite make it up the hill on their own and Cody is NEARLY able to brake. Yay!!

I also took it as an opportunity to work on my photography.

Can't quite get going

Nice lighting from the setting sun

Ooh.. they found this giant fish lying on the side of the lake and they are still talking about it 3 weeks later!!!

Last ski trip of the year?

The Contos invited us to a free day of skiing at Eldora. After struggling to look for a day that would work for us, we went!

After some adventures on my part(forgot Tyler's jacket, nearly running out of gas in the mountains), we got to Eldora. But the ski conditions weren't that good and Tyler was a little freaked out by it somehow so we did a short day and went to enjoy some good Nepalese food which Tyler devoured.

It was a good day.

Spring Performance 2013

The kids had a Spring Performance at school and once again we went along for the amusing experience. I really have to admit it is quite the funny giggly experience.

But frankly, i spend so much time behind the camera, i sorta miss the whole thing. So, next year, less shots but more quality. This time i had some problems with the camera till i realized that i had it on the wrong setting!! Doh!!!

Here are some shots of the kids during their performance.

Ok, another one!

So cute!!

I was told all the masks were made by one of the mothers. I was blown away by this commitment.

Easter 2013

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect Easter day than the day we had. The sun was shining and there was no wind and kids were well behaved!

We had our Annual Easter Egg hunt for the kids in our house. Got ready some crafts and made some food. It was a lovely day.

I bought a ham this year and it made my life so much easier and for once i wasn't up till some ungodly hours cooking(only 2 am and by then the house was nearly clean and table was set). I also opted for a few easy new dishes which took all i had in me to not panic about not having enough food! And i only had to eat leftovers for 2 days!!
