Bolder Boulder 2011

It is a Mills tradition to take part in the Bolder Boulder 10K race on Memorial day. This involves Alan (and Steffen) running it early in the morning, then heading back to the start to do it all over again.

This was the fourth BB for Tyler and the second for Cody, hopefully soon they will be able to run the event and no longer need carrying around the course.

We did the walk with Siobhan, Sabrina, Shilpa, Siew Gin, Damith and Darshan (Thanks to Darshan for helping carry the load). Steffen and Ann also completed the distance, although they were a little faster than us.

We spent the morning, trying to stay ahead of the cutoff walker, so we could all finish in the stadium and by juggling Mills boys, backpacks and shoulders we managed to complete it all in a shade under 2 hours.

Alan completed his eighth BB in 46 minutes, 48 seconds coming in 2295 place out of 49,000 people, slightly faster than 2010.

We all met in the stadium to see the parachute guys land (Tyler's favorite part of the day).

Here are a few pictures of the Mills Family 10k..

Cody is a bouncing boy !!

When Cody went to Goddard today, there was a big bouncy castle in the play area. Lucky for us the Spider class were the first ones to be able to use it, so I stuck around for a few minutes to persuade Cody to go bounce.

Once inside he seemed to enjoy it, and practiced his bouncing and walking on uneven surfaces.

Red Nose for Walle Day

Not sure of the connection between these two pictures.....

Who is this master of disguise?

This morning we have a spy in our midst, can you guess who it is?

Denver Trolley

Cody, Tyler and Alan went to REI in Denver to get an ibert so that Cody could join in our biking adventures.

We got there just in time to ride the Denver trolley which runs from REI pass the Childrens Museum, Denver Aquarium and Broncos Stadium.

We also saw the 3 bears created by Georgia Gerber

I'm fine too!!

And since my parents are my parents, i'm sure they worry about me too! ha!!

Here's a picture of me looking very "prosperous" on Mother's Day after our 5K run. I am coping well, without my maids(who needs them?? hehe). Juggling work, kids, house work AND social life(though we're always super late now!!) came back easily enough but i have to say Alan has been awesome with the kids.

Our 4-pack t-shirts

Cody cracks me up..

How are the boys?

It's been a while since i blogged and the most concerned people seemed to be my parents. So, i thought i'd rest their minds a little by posting a few pictures of the boys.

Tyler and Cody have settled down for sure and Tyler has even started saying he likes it here better than Philippines! :) and Cody seems to like going to school. He waves goodbye to me in the morning willingly though he still cries when we leave him at the daycare. But i think that's normal for his age.

They both enjoy swimming immensely lately. Tyler can paddle around with arm bands whereas Cody has no fear and is willing to jump in anywhere he can!!! Tyler surprised Alan and I by willingly taking a swimming class(don't ask me how much i paid a private instructor in Philippines who couldn't get him into the pool!!). And we've been going to the pool and doing bike rides around our subdivision on weekends as much as possible.

Anyways, here are pictures of the boys one morning before going to school!

Happy Mothers Day - 5k Race

Today was Mothers day and Siew Gin bravely decided she wanted to take all of us to go 'run' the Mothers Day 5K

After an early start, feeding the kids breakfast, giving mummy her cards and presents, we drove down to the Zoo for the start of the race.

We met up with a few of our friends who had also signed up for the event and proceeded to complete the 5k distance in just over one hour.

After we finished the run, we took a quick tour of the zoo, and then headed home to eat and spend the rest of the day relaxing...

Here is the gang at the finish line

Costco Bouty

Nearly everything in America comes in giant size. This weekend we went to Costco to buy a bunch of things, Cody and Tyler took the chance to stand on the bounty mountain
