Hulstrom trunk or treat

Hulstrom does a trunk or treat party each year and normally it is inside. This year they actually went with an outside one, and for a smart school, they didn't seem to have a good strategy for getting the school kids through the line.  Not sure my plan of wearing shorts was a great idea either.

The boys enjoyed it and especially liked going for Chic-Fil-A afterwards.

Tyler and Cody Pool Party

Tyler and Cody got a break from their intensive swim training and had a pool party to celebrate halloween with their swim team.  They both had a lot of fun in the organized chaos.

Tyler had to do a book report and make a pumpkin based on the book. For some reason unknown to us he chose captain underpants for his book choice.

Pumpkin Carving

After our trip to Anderson farms we ended up with four giant (some may say very expensive) pumpkins that were all ready for carving.

The boys were eager this year to scoop out the insides, Tyler persevered with marking out and carving out his pumpkin.  Cody chose a complex pattern and his interest waned so he ended up supervising as I completed his pumpkin and didn't get to finish mine before the boys had to go to sleep.

Cody and Tyler at the pumpkin meet

Cody and Tyler attended the pumpkin swim meet this weekend in Longmont.  They were both competing in 8 and under, but luckily Cody didn't have to race against Tyler!  They both managed 2 pb's each today.  Tyler took part in 5 events, Cody in 2.

Tyler got very close to under 2 minutes (2:02) for 100 IM, and Cody got down to 27 seconds for 25 backstroke.

On Sunday we went to the rec center for a quick swim followed by badminton.  I thought is was very funny as both Cody and Tyler were telling me how my 'backstroke was no good Daddy', 'you need to do smaller kicks, streamline, look up' and so on.  I guess they will start overtaking me soon.

Tyler Swims with an Olympic champion and world record holder

Tyler's swim team had a swim clinic today with Ian Crocker who is a Olympic champion as well as former world record holder.  They got to ask him a bunch of questions, learn how he beat Michael Phelps to the world championship.

They then got to spend some time being coached in and out of the pool.  Tyler even got to hold the gold medal.

Tyler and Cody win all their races at the Swim Pizza meet

Tyler and Cody took part in the October swim pizza meet today.  Cody was entered in 2 races (25 back and 25 free), Tyler was in 4 races (25 back, 25 free, 50 back and 50 free).

I was timing, so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures, but I did manage to be in the right lane for a number of their races and see them win.

Both Tyler and Cody managed to win all their races, so it was a six-sweep for the Millsers..

Fish and Chips after Pikes Peak Open Badminton

Tyler and I played in the Pikes Peak Open.  Tyler has improved a lot and I think he will start to win some tournaments in the near future.

We stopped on the way back for some fish and chips, which is Tylers all time favorite (for some unknown reason).

These are supposed to be like the English ones, but the fish is not as good and the chips are really fries.  They do have 'bits' in the bottom of the basket which Tyler and I discovered to great joy at the end of our meal.

Cuda Fusion Dual Meet

We attended the meet today and i took some pics and videos of the boys to show the progress on their swimming. Cody's style is definitely improving.

Both boys were a little sick today and did not do superbly but they both had a good time.
