The boys were invited to Mila's birthday party and had a great time whacking the pinata and making their own food. I enjoyed eating the cake!

Cody and Tyler took a few hours off from school to take part in the guild piano testing.  Not sure if they would prefer school or piano, but they did get to have chic-fil-a afterwards.  Guild is strange in that they have A's (bad) and C's (good) for scoring.  Overall Tyler got 25 C's and 3 A's.  Cody got 16 C's and 1 A.

Cody Longmont Showdown - High point winner

Sunday it was Cody's turn to swim.  He was competing against the bigger kids, but also got a chance to win high point if he scored the most points as a 7 year old.  Cody had signed up for 5 events,  25 free, 25 back, 25 breast, 25 fly and 100 IM.  He managed to get legal times for all the events, and his 3 wins and 2 seconds was enough to give him first place.

Tyler long Course meet in Fort Collins

Tyler got to take a road trip with his friend Jude to Fort Collins for a long course meet.  I got regular updates from Jude's mum as he swam and he again managed to get 3 pb's.  (That is due to him setting his previous times last year).

We have been lucky the last few years that our friends have organized an Easter Party so we don't have to worry about too much, just showing up.

The boys had a great time looking for eggs, eating sno-cones and hanging out with their friends.  I also got to enjoy a sno-cones or two.

Tyler races an Olympic Gold Medalist

In the afternoon, we drove to Loveland for a swim clinic with Jason Lezak  The session started with a talk about his journey to Olympic gold which was inspiring. Then it was on to the clinic itself where they worked on skills, nutrition and land exercises.  The day finished with a chance to wear an Olympic medal and get an autograph.

Easter Egg hunt #1

We woke up early to do our close neighborhood egg hunt, however when we got to the park it had been moved, and as we had gone on foot we missed our first chance. Tyler got a second chance to do another close one before his swim camp, Cody missed out as he was going with Siew Gin.

The Mills boys take part in the Frank Shorter fun run

The boys and I took part in the frank shorter fun run this year. Last year Tyler finished third, so this year we let him start at the front and try to improve on third.  Cody ran with me and started off fast, and then kept going. This was a major improvement, and to top it all, he out sprinted another boy to finish really strongly in 6 minutes.  Tyler had already finished in 4 minutes 31 seconds and had finished second. So yet again he got to meet with Frank Shorter and score a nice medal.

Tyler Froggy Friday

Tyler only has 2 froggy fridays left at school, so I went to this one to help out.  Tyler and the kids enjoyed their time with the old folks, as well as hunting for eggs.

Cody has not really managed a good flip turn in his last few meets, so I finally got a chance with Tyler's help to teach him how to do one properly. After about 20 attempts and coaching him, he got it right, and now he just needs to work on his approach and speed.  Should improve his swim times a lot.

Tyler passed his Kumon Reading HII today.  This was a hard one, as they look for certain key words in the test, and Tyler doesn't always spot them and put them in his answer.

We finally got to use our xmas movie tickets this weekend, as the whole family had a spare few hours.

We went to see Boss Baby, which was okay, with some funny bits in it.  The boys enjoyed it for sure,

After completing our Brighton April Fools swim meet, we headed off to Chase and Jackson's birthday party. The boys enjoyed the foam pit and it seems that is the way to go for the kids..

After our long drive home in the snow from Las Vegas on Friday night, we had to wake up early and head out for our swim meet.

The boys did really well, with both getting several PB's.  On top of that Tyler finished top 9 year old, and Cody finished 3rd 7 year old.  Their friends Emily and Jonah also got trophies and they all finished the day by collecting Easter eggs.
