Hair cut day for the boys

The boys' hair was getting long and the first thing we did on Saturday was to take them to get it chopped off. Tyler was already a big pro at getting his hair cut, but this was the first time Cody sat on his own and got his hair done. Woo hoo!!! And the most awesome thing is, all 3 boys get them cut at the same place!!

It's cute now Tyler requests to have his hair spiked!!

Last stop - Chicago

Our last stop on our trip was my favorite big city - Chicago. Apart from visiting a big city, it was also a chance to visit with my best friend Terry.

We spent 2 days exploring the city with the kids. The kids enjoyed the change of pace and the bustling of the big city. They got quite excited to see all the tall buildings, taxis, police cars and were intrigue with all the sounds of the big city!

The first day, we visit the Sears Tower. The got a kick of looking at the skyline at 103 floors and even when we were on the sky deck, it didn't faze them that they were standing on a glass deck looking straight down 103 floors!!

The weather again didn't cooperate but we still managed to push on and got on the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. It was a yucky day and we were happy to head home after lunch and the ride. Hailing a cab was a nightmare but thank goodness i am well trained from my stay in Manila!

That night we requested Terry and Gina to babysit the boys while Alan and I went out for a date night to celebrate our anniversary. We got to enjoy a really good meal at Vie. The restaurant made a special dessert for us as our anniversary gift.

I can see the sea!! (really it's a lake)

Where are we going next, daddy???

The next day, we went on a bus tour. Due to cold weather and bad timing, Terry and his family couldn't join us for the entire bus tour. But the Millsers are not easily beaten down, so we pulled up our hoods and braved the cold and had a great day exploring the city's sights!

We spend most time walking around Millenium Park and checking out the fountains and The Bean. As we had a late start, we only managed to grab lunch at the park which turned out to be quite pleasant.

That night, Terry made us some yummy food and it was nice to get to sit down and catch up.

On our last day, we had a late start, went to China town and got some darn good Dim Sum before heading out to the airport.

It was a good end to our week long roadtrip. The kids were relatively well behaved and enjoyed the different scenes and experience. It was super to be able to spend time with Terry, Gina and Shane.

Relaxing days at Paw Paw Lake

Our next stop on our journey across MI was in a little town called Watervliet where Doug has a cute little cottage on the lake. He was kind enough to host us for 2 days. It was a rather relaxing 2 days and we spent time just hanging out by the lake and taking walks.

The kids eager to check out the lake

Cody still thinking about it but got shoved in by Tyler!!!

One of the days we were there, it was our 9th anniversary. I tried to get a picture of Alan and I together but the kids kept butting in which i found hilarious!!!

Those pesky kids!!!

Oh well.. family pics then!

More family pics

We're not trying to drown them.. i swear..

Our crazy family!

Doug's cottage is a real antique cottage that has been in his family for 50 odd years. I have many fond memories of warm summer days when i was still living in MI. The kids liked exploring it too especially the antique beds!
