Tyler's new chair

Alan and I have been meaning to buy Tyler a chair of his own. I finally had time to go look around this weekend and came back with one. Don't tell Tyler, but he's getting it for his birthday!

But i thought I'd let him try it out and see if he likes it. Weirdly enough, he did! He was all excited about sitting in it and actually sat there for more than 5 seconds!!!

This is Tyler demonstrating how to sit:

First you pose...

Then you climb onto the chair

Then you turn around..

Clap and bang on the sides if you like..

Finally, you relllaaxxx..

Another party filled weekend

When it rains, it pours. That's how our party weekends are like!

On Saturday, Tyler and I woke up to a beautiful day and we had a relaxing morning playing and being silly. Then we got ready to go to another of my Asian women party. We were of course late but i enjoyed some nice food and Tyler got to spend some time with Uncle Ken while i hid from him!!! :)

Tyler testing out Mateo's present...

Then we went to Mateo's birthday party which was held in a playroom. There was music and dancing and marakas and parachutes. Totally crazy!!! Tyler who just woke up from a nap found it overwhelming at first, warmed up to it later on and had fun shaking his marakas and joining the parade.

After that we were invited back to Mateo's house for some wine and cheese. Actually, i had wine and cheese, Tyler only had milk. I must have been drinking lousy wine for all this time, coz good wine really is GOOD and good cheese is heavenly!

Trick-or-Treat'ing at Mommy's office

My company had a mini trick-or-treat on Friday and i took the opportunity to bring Tyler for a little taste of trick or treat. He's after all a Halloween baby! He'd better get good at this!

Tyler and his game face!

Tyler having a ball exploring the aisles and cubicles

Some cubicles are more interesting than others..

I was appointed to be the photographer for the little event and Tyler spent most of his time following me around while i took pictures of other trick or treaters.

Man, trick or treating is hard work.

Proud owner of the cutest little teddy bear!

And I think our little dress rehearsal actually worked because when i put on his costume at work, he didn't even notice! Mind you, he was pretty intrigued by the maze of cubicles.

At some point, he wandered off and caused a little bit of panic for both of us(Tyler and I). I still remember his face of relief when he finally saw me coming round a corner. I'm sure i had the same expression.

Just the head!

Tyler was in a happy mood tonight, so i thought i'd try my luck at getting him to wear the head part of his teddy bear outfit. Hmm..

Addy tried pulling the mask a little higher and we finally got some smiles. Didn't last that long though..

Ahh.. Halloween is so funny...

Damith and Sabrina's wedding

It was Damith and Sabrina's wedding this weekend and all of us flew out to Tucson, AZ to join in the fun. As I was the Matron of Honor in the wedding, I was relatively busy running around with Sabrina, so Alan got most of the baby sitting duties!

The wedding day started out with us getting our hair done. Hish and I went to the salon with Sabrina where we all got all dolled up.

The "after" picture... not sure why this picture is so orange!

The bride is READY!

My handsome boys are ready!
The wedding took place at Sabrina's Dad's house. It was a quiet, small affair attended by close family and friends. Sabrina's brother in law officiated the wedding with a personal touch which made it more memorable..

The wedding ceremony

Der Kuss... as Steffen would say..

The ceremony is then followed by the reception and dancing. During the reception, i gave my Matron of Honor speech that made Sabrina cry. Woo hoo! Mission accomplished!

My baby and I having our first dance!

and horsing around with Daddy..

The wedding ended at about 9:30 pm and I was happy to call it a night. It had been a hectic day and I was very impressed with Sabrina's composure throughout the day. She was able to look past the few hiccups, that would have sent me off the cliff, and concentrated on the important thing - getting married to the man she loves.

Congratulations again, you guys!

Tyler and animals

Tyler has finally started to finally try to connect with animals. He gets real excited when he gets to pet them.

This was how he tried to get Snickers(Sabrina's Dad's dog) to play with him:

Hello.. i'm at your level now, can you see me?

Is that bone really that good?

OK, you seem to be really busy, I'll just give you a pet....

Tyler in a tux

For Damith and Sabrina's upcoming wedding, I thought it'd be cute to put Tyler in a tux(what better excuse??)

Anyways, here are some pictures of him. I caught him in a cranky mood, so not many good pictures. Will try again on a happier moment.

Rugged look..

After some tidying up..

Doesn't he look like an old Italian man??

Check out those tails!

Alas, after all that dressing up, he was fed up..

Reversed roles in the household

On Sunday, after a very late lie in, i finally roused from the dead and went downstairs and found Alan and Tyler playing. He did a great job feeding Tyler and everything while I was sleeping.

Then after a cup of tea, i headed outside to trim some of the garden bushes that was going out of control and that somehow led me to end up chopping down a plant that had turned into a tree. I was in the middle of dragging a big branch when Alan brought Tyler out for a look. Tyler thought it was hilarious i was huffing and puffing dragging around branches 1/2 my size.

While i was cutting the branches into little pieces, i thought funnily about how Alan and I have somehow reversed roles. Not really sure what i think about that!

What do you think?

Sabrina's Bachelorette

I was given the privilege to be the Matron of Honor(MOH) in Damith and Sabrina's wedding. And one of the duties of the MOH is to host a Bachelorette Night for the bride.

As I was inexperienced in the world of Bachelorette Night planning and with a little bit of a rocky start at initial planning, I roped in Hish to help me plan some games.

The ladies at the Bachelorette Night

The night started out with a nice meal at Antica Roma. 9 of us(all dressed up!) showed up to wish Sabrina well and to help her enjoy her last few days as a single woman! Most of us were on time and sat around for a nice chat while waiting Sabrina who arrived fashionably late(apparently Hish's fault!!!).

But Hish made it up by doling out some really fun and hilarious games throughout dinner. We had a cool waiter who even participated in some games and we closed out the restaurant by a long shot. Sabrina also got to open her presents between games and bites of food! Some gifts were nice and some were very naughty.

Some of the nicer gifts.

One of them was a Bachelorette's last night shirt where she has to check off a list of things to do and that basically was the starting point of our crazy night out!!

Some examples of things to check off

Sabrina, being the sporting bride-to-be, went thru the list with no problems, harassing people on Pearl Street(especially the U of Texas fans), though not sure how much of that was fueled by alcohol. The rest of us helped out with loads of trash talking and 6-pack abs drawings and of course tons of laughing.

Some strange guy with newly drawn 6-pack abs...

We ended up at a club called Seven where we continued our drinking and dancing and list checking related activities.

Group pile up, Sabrina is somewhere in the pile

At about 1:30 am, Sabrina finally fell off the cliff(words from Damith) and we thought it was time to end the party(i was beat anyways).

I had a blast that night and I hope every else did. Considering the only casualty from that night was my car(Sabrina threw up a little in my car), I think the Bachelorette's Night was a success!

P.S Due to nature of this blog, only the nice pictures are published.

Hari Raya at Idi's

So on Saturday, after our jewelry shopping first thing in the morning, we drove to Longmont to attend a Hari Raya celebration hosted by my friend Idi and his very capable wife Malin.

The party started out with delicious, homecooked Malay cuisine that was oh soo goood. By the time i got there it was a good sized crowd. But then the crowd kept piling in. At some point, the house reached almost maximum capacity and it was crazy!! I estimated about 100 people must have came thru that day while i was there. Can you imagine cook for so many?

Poor Malin at some point was panicking when she thought the food was going to run out. The co-host and I were trying to calm her down and we did some rationing and some back up food and peace prevailed.

Anyways, i went home happy and full.. :)

Jewelry shopping!

Our 5th Anniversary came and went while Alan was away in China. And every year for our anniversary, Alan would buy me a piece of jewelry from Trice Jewelers, a very cool tradition thought up by me ;)

This year, with the trips to Europe and China, I barely had time to spell jewelry, much less shop for it. So, on Saturday, when Alan suggested we pay a visit to Larry(our jeweler), I was super psyched!!

To make the story short, this is what i ended up with!

My beautiful Tanzanite pendant..

It was a beautiful piece to match a tanzanite bracelet Alan got me 2 anniversaries ago. I think i'm quite lucky, don't you? Thanks Alan!!!!

Anyways, it was Tyler's first experience at the jewelers and he also had a ball, though his happiness was a lot cheaper than mine! At some point, dazzled by the glitters, he wandered off and the next thing i knew, he came back with an empty box. That little tinker had found a cupboard full of little boxes and helped himself to one.

Tyler showing us what he found

He found lots of fun in the nooks and crannies

And since we've been back so many years, Larry has become some sort of a friend(the very expensive kind we meet for 1/2 hr every year!!!). So, we got a picture of Tyler and Larry together. Tyler took to Larry easily.. clever boy!!! hehee..

Tyler and Larry..
