Pumpkin Carving

We were going to carve pumpkins in a bigger group, but this year we just did a small family carving.

I had already scooped out the insides, so we could get done quickly.  The boys and Siew Gin chose their designs and quickly carved away.  Tyler managed to do most of it on his own, Cody needed a little help but overall they turned out great.

Can you see what it is yet?

Cody and Tyler take part in SwimJitsu

Earlier in the year we drove to Colorado Springs so that Tyler could take part in SwimJitsu.  Then a few weeks later they announced that it was taking place again at our local pool!

This time I persuaded Cody to take part and both he Tyler and their friend Jude took part in the activities.

It was a slightly different course, and slightly better organized and Cody did seem to enjoy himself.

Swimming with an Olympic Gold Medalist

The boys got to swim with Breeja Larson today as a result of making their swimathon goal. She was a gold medalist from the 2012 Olympics.  She had a great story to tell, and looks like she has muscles on her muscles.

The boys had fun, but neither of them managed to beat her despite her giving them a headstart.

Tyler finishes sixth in School District Cross Country, helps his school finish in 3rd place

Tyler took part in the Adams12 cross country mile race today for 4th grade boys.  130 kids took part and he finished in 6th place in 6:24.27.  He finished first from his school, with the next placer coming in 10th.

Overall a great performance, and inspired him to run it again next year.

Visiting Anderson Farms

Siew Gin's sister was visiting for the weekend, and the weather was nice, so we took the opportunity to visit Anderson Farms and complete the corn maze as well as pick up some pumpkins.  Every year the farm becomes more commercialized and crowded, but luckily we got there early enough to beat most of the crowds.
