Fright night at Elitch gardens

We have been to Elitch gardens a few times this year to take advantage of our season pass. This was our last time of the year and coincided with fright night. Basically they add a few props to the rides and make it look more scarier. We didn't do many rides, but the boys had fun.

We have finally got Cody started on his piano lessons. His first formal lesson is coming up, but in the meantime he has been practicing at home with help from his mother and his brother.

Another month, another trip to Home Depot. This time we got to make a fire truck.

Fort Collins badminton tournament

The boys and I travelled to Fort Collins today to take part in their badminton tournament.  The boys got to play together for the first time in a tournament. I also got to play with both of them as well.

They did take a silver in the boys under 15. To be fair there were only 2 teams, and the opposition were much older, but they did surprisingly well and enjoyed themselves.

Storming the castle at Castle Rock

Siew Gin was invited to a Malaysian Pot Luck in Castle Rock, and the boys and I took the opportunity while we were there to climb the rock itself. I have been past this place many times, and wondered if it could be climbed, so when we had the chance we gave it a go, It is a fairly easy 1.5 mile hike to the top and has a loop so you can come down a different side than you go up.

Broncos 7k

We don't normally do many family runs together apart from Bolder Boulder, but this year I spotted that the Broncos were doing a 7k run which finished in the stadium, had nice finisher medals, and a broncos jersey as part of the package.  You also go to meet some of the players at packet pickup as well.

The race was fun, could have done with one more water stop, but overall everyone made it without too many complaints and we finished in just over 1 hour (well 1 minute over).

We had to go to the Broncos stadium today to pick up our numbers for the Broncos 7k race on Sunday.  We still had a couple of guest passes for Elitch Gardens, and as that was close to the stadium we took the boys.  They got to choose the rides, so tamer than usual but I think they enjoyed it more.
