Cody and Tyler spend the day with Daddy

The boys got to spend the day with me on Friday, so we tried to get a full day of activities done.

First stop was the World Of Wonder Museum in Lafayette where the boys got to experiment with rising balls, pirate ships, hoists and pulleys and a sandpit as well as try on various costumes.

Then it was off geocaching to find some treasure, before stopping for lunch at Protos

After a nap and Kumon, we managed to get a free Menchies before our trip to Sunflower Farm

Family Day at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch

My company was hosting a family day and this year we had it at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch. It was cute little ranch with lots of things to do. The ranch was nestled in the hills in Loveland and was very picturesque and full of rustic charm.

Tyler and I got to fish and Cody got to go on a hayride with Alan. The kids also enjoyed walking the "tight rope" and riding a horse. Tyler was surprisingly very interested in fishing and was able to cast the fish pole pretty well. Unfortunately, he didn't catch anything for the few hours we were there, though he did manage to lose two hooks. One in the tree and one in the cat tails bushes. I, on the other hand, did catch a 22 in fish of some sort!! All in all, it was fun filled afternoon.

We might try to get our non-american family members to come spend a few days here next time to experience a real cowboy experience! :)

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

It was our annual trip to Colorado Springs for the Rocky Mountain State games which means, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo time!!!!

The kids were very excited to get to feed the giraffes and birds and were looking forward to it. Anyways, we were up early in the morning and headed down to Colorado Springs.

The zoo as usual is fun. But the boys are still a bunch of chickens and were terrified of animals. I had more fun feeding the giraffes and birds than them. Oh, the Chandrasekaras joined us for the trip and we all had a good time.

We went thru most of the zoo before breaking for lunch and after lunch we treated the kids to a carousel ride. Before we left the zoo, we visited the hippos and saw them feeding them which was very exciting.

That night, we went to the Curry Leaf to celebrate Steffen's birthday!

Here are pictures from our visit:
