Salsa'ing at the Salsa Congress

I don't go salsa dancing much but when my friend told me about the Salsa and Bachata Congress in Denver, i thought that would be the thing to attend!!

I went with my friend Dan whom i have not seen for a long time. It's nice to go to such event with at least a friend because if nothing else, you get one person to dance with! But it was a blast and we both had plenty of people to dance with! :)

The last time i went to a Salsa ball, i was so under dressed that this time, i decided that i would over dress!! Turned out it was a good decision as my Brazilian dress was quite the hit at the dance!! It was very flowy as i got twirled around on the dance floor! Besides, how many times can i wear it??!!

Not the best picture of the event, but it's the only one i got!

It was way past 1 a.m. as my feet pleaded mercy with a blister to show for it, that we decided to call it a night! And we agreed that we were both glad that we got each other's lazy bum out of the house and went dancing!!!

Check out my new shiny ring!

For our 10th anniversary vow renewal, I actually got a new ring from my lovely husband(though he refused one himself). My ring didn't arrive in time for the ceremony so, we got a loaner from our jeweler(cool, eh?). I felt like a celebrity that we can actually borrow a piece!! ha!!

Anyways, we got it this weekend!! It's shiny and so pretty!!!

My ring!

And since we were in that part of town, we went to Shawarma Mediterranean Grill for some yummy food!!!

British Car Show

Since Alan was in charge of the weekend, we went to see a British Car show. It sounds really posh but really it was about 20 people(mostly old), who owns a British car getting together in a parking lot. We considered ourselves super lucky because not long after we got there, they all got in their cars and drove off for some drive around, we assume.

But it was enough time for us to get to all the cars. Can't say i know how to appreciate those cars but they do make interesting objects to photograph. Alan and the kids had quite the discussion on them!

Here are my trying to be artsy pictures of the cars!

Alan and the kids checking out the cars

A little OTT, don't you think?

The car has a belt on it

Not sure if this was part of the car show as it's a motorbike

I love this red

As the car show abruptly ended, we found ourselves ahead of schedule!! What a treat!!! :)

Building Fire Plane at Home Depot

The local DIY stores does little kids building classes on some weekends and we've been thinking about it for some time but just didn't have any good weekends. For once we did, so we went.

The kids got to "build" a little plane though i'm not sure how much was actually done by the parents. Anyways, they enjoyed it and that was all that was important! :)

Here are some pics of our Bob the Builders!

Date Night at Rioja

It's been quite a long time since Alan and I had a date night. But our neighborhood girl was starting some babysitting job, so we thought we'd give her a try.

Alan picked Rioja as our restaurant of choice. And after feeding the kids and giving Bella instructions like what time to put the kids to sleep, we were off!

Rioja turned out to be fantastic!!! It's not often i get too impressed with any restaurants anymore. Alan had ordered some lamb and i had some black ink squid farfalle(OMG!). I'm still thinking about it... mmmm... Oooh, i also ordered some dungeness crab which came out kinda weird. Not bad.. just not what i expected. Dessert was also interesting as we didn't even know what it was and didn't know what to expect.

This is what i expect from a trendy restaurant these days.. different AND good!

Apart from food, it was also nice for Alan and I to enjoy something we like to do which is to try new restaurants and some personal time to just chit chat and make fun of people! :)

Pictures of our beautifully presented food!

Tyler reaches C3

Tyler reached by his C by Level 3 milestone today.  This is an award given to people who are Grade 3 or below and reach level C, so he is well ahead of schedule.

Now and then

It's not often that you get to repeat a look after 10 years. Well, you might if you never change your wardrobe and i'm sure i still have t-shirts from college!! But our vow renewal provided this opportunity for me and i thought it'd be interesting to do a comparison on how i looked 10 years ago compared to now.

What do you think? I think i actually prefer my look now! :) Maybe because of better make up and i'm more relaxed this time around!!!

10 years later

We'll have to do one for Alan too!
