When I took the kids to school this morning we saw a hawk in the garden, 45 minutes later when I got back he was still there enjoying the snack he plucked from the sky,

Despite us having more than usual snow amounts this year, and it sticking around, this weekend it was 70 degrees and warm enough for a picnic.

Tyler finally gets a '4' for reading/writing

Tyler always tries to do the minimum amount of work possible at school, and his writing although high in quality is low in quantity.  So for his valentine project I made him sit down and actually write out a proper draft and expand it to fill the required space and surprise surprise he was awarded with a 4/4 (outstanding).

Lets hope he finally gets the hint and writes more than just one sentence next time.

Broncos win the superbowl

No one would have believed, in the first years of the twenty first century that a football game was being watched across the timeless worlds of space.   No one could have dreamed that the Broncos were being being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.  Few men even considered the possibility of the Broncos winning the superbowl and yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to our ours were working out how to beat the Panthers.  The chances of us winning were a million to one, but still they came.

After a crazy season of watching, supporting and seeing the broncos change quarterbacks, be seen as least likely to get to the superbowl and then clear underdogs, they played an almost perfect defensive game to beat the panthers, (after having beat the patriots to end Siew Gin's superbowl hopes previously).

We watched the game at the Heides house so got to enjoy a lot of sausage rolls, wings and dip.

Home Depot adventures

Siew Gin was getting ready for her sushi party, so I got to take the boys to home depot to make their valentines box.  Tyler's main concern was not nailing his box to the table like last time.  Luckily for us he managed to avoid that rookie mistake and completed the box on his own. Cody also did most of the work and just needed a little help with starting the nails off.

Snow Day

We had a lot of snow last night, so much that they closed the schools so the kids get a snow day, and I get to shovel a lot of snow.

Just after we finished shovelling, along came the tractor to move some of the snow in the road.
