Chase and Jackson birthday party, or was it?

One of our friends has a pizza oven in his basement, so Saturday night we went over to his house and ate a lot of pizza.  The boys also played table tennis and had a lot of fun.  The evening was finished off with a surprise birthday celebration for Chase and Jackson.

Cuda Carnival

The boys took part in the Cuda Carnival swim meet in the morning.  They did really well, Cody winning 4 events, and placing second in the last one.  Tyler managed to win all 5 events.  They picked up a lot of prizes mainly ducks!

Riding to the Broomfield Bike Park

We saw that the Broomfield Bike Park was open behind our local supermarket on Monday, then Tuesday we had snow, so finally today we cycled from our house to go check out the bike park.  Turns out that today was one of the days that it was closed as they are still doing construction, so maybe one of these days the boys will actually get to ride the circuit.  Instead we had to make do with the local park.

American Spelling challenges

The boys and I went out for lunch yesterday, and after we gave our order, they asked for my name for the order.  I was pleasantly surprised when I saw what they had written on the receipt. I guess I must have looked foreign to them!

Cody moves up to Silver Swim Group

Almost two years to the day that Tyler moved up to Silver swim group, Cody has also moved up.  One day they will both be swimming at the same pool!

Reach for the stars concert

We managed to score some tickets to the free Boulder Philharmonic concert this weekend, so we finished badminton early and headed to Boulder for the show.  They played a lot of space related songs, finishing with the theme from Star Wars, which was the same one that Tyler did for talent show.  Needless to say their rendition was more powerful.

Visiting the newest Rao - Baby Gautam

The Rao's live very close to the ice hockey center we visited with Tyler, so we took a quick detour to check out the latest addition to their family.  Everyone is doing well and Tyler and Cody enjoyed meeting the new baby.  Gautam on the other hand seemed to enjoy sleeping!

Tyler tries his stick at Ice Hockey

Every year ice rinks around the country allow kids to come and try ice hockey.  I just happened to be checking out a local ice rink, and saw that it was this weekend so I signed Tyler up. After around 20 minutes of putting on pads, making sure that our pants stopped falling down, and other vital equipment checks, Tyler took to the ice and skated for around an hour, scoring a few goals, and falling down a few times.  He enjoyed himself and he got a free hockey jersey so all in all a good time.
