England Trip - A little adventure to Germany

I've always talked about going to different countries and trying new food and seeing new things with the kids. So, since we were in England for 2 weeks, i thought it'd be a good idea to take a short break halfway thru to go see my friend Poppy who currently lives in Germany. We were really good friends in the Philippines and i felt that i really should make the little effort since we are relatively close-by for once, keep up the friendship and all that.

I took Tyler with me as he and Julius used to be good friends. Tyler was quite excited to know that he gets to go travelling with mummy and even more so when he found out we get to go on a train and a plane and everything, like a real adventure.

We spent two nights and a day in Germany and had a good time with the Zahn family. Tyler and Julius who were shy with each other at first got to know each other well again, within 1 hr of playing. And while we were there, we got to enjoy some yummy Poppy's homecooking which i miss and some delicious German food. Tyler found schnitzel particularly yummy and had requested that i made it.

On Sunday, after the sun played hide and seek with us a few times, we decided to brave it and go explore the Ruedesheim am Rhein area which is oddly surrounded by beautiful vineyards. It was nice to explore the cute little streets and look at the different buildings. After a delicious Italian lunch, we went up the little hill to look at some monument and enjoy the majestic view from there. I think the area is called Oberes Mittle Rheintal which i was told meant Upper Middle Rhein Valley which is apparently a world heritage site! The boys were happy to be able to run around racing each other.

Anyways, after that we went to Weisbaden to look at a schloss which means a palace. Pretty little place. That night, Holger took us to an authentic German eating place in downtown Frankfurt and we ordered a ton of meat which we ate with Apple wine and lots of potatoes and sauerkraut while talking about old times swapped stories.

On our last day, since we had to go to the airport at about noon, we took it easy and relaxed. Tyler and Julius were starting to get on each other's nerves and it was a good time to say goodbye. Holger, who had to work that day, ordered us a cab which surprise surprise arrived on time! Tyler found it funny that the cab driver was a lady! We got to the airport super fast thanks to the no-speed-limit autobahn!!! We managed to get another yummy schnitzel in us before we left Germany!
