To go with the theme, i made them their Batman and Robin cake to match their Halloween costume(you can go read the post on that). And to make use of my recently acquired skill, sewing, i made capes and masks for all the kids. Pink ones for girls and blue ones for boys. The capes were made with fancy satin and the masks were made with 2-layer felt.
We also made a backdrop for the kids to pose with their super hero outfit and little comic signs and little callouts that i personally thought were hilarious, but, the kids didn't quite get the humor. In fact, most of them didn't even want the cape!! *gasp* What??!!
Anyways, the usual crowd came and celebrated with us and the weather turned out to be great. So the kids got to go outside and run around, play on the swing, shoot some water gun at Austin Powers and do what kids love to do. They also had a blast running around with Addy's dog - Cooper.
Everybody seemed to have a good time and most of the food was consumed. I took Diana's advice and took a Costco shortcut for some food. We only had leftovers for 2 days! :)
I can't believe the kids are 6 and 4 just like i'm pretty sure my parents can't believe i'm 37! :)
