The Party goes on...

Terry and I have come a long ways since our clubbing days. Now that we both have families and kid in tow, it's almost a distant memory! (though I have to admit I've been let out a few times lately!!!)

So, one of the things Terry requested that we do when he was here was clubbing. But since we were both a little rusty at it, i figured we'll take it easy and do a short version of it - from 12 am to 2 am!

After Sushi Zanmai, the group of us headed over to Seven which is becoming one of our hang out places somehow.

However, music at Seven that night was a little dissappointing. We waited it out over a few drinks and thought the night is too precious to waste over bad music. We downed our drinks and went to Plan B - 'round Midnight which is another bar a few doors down.

It was a different atmosphere at 'round Midnight. It was more run down, full of college kids but they had a little better music. A few of us decided to play some pool first and Addy and I, by some weird chance, managed to win our first 2 games!! ha!

Terry and I thoroughly enjoyed our night out and I want to thank everybody who showed up for being there and made it so fun!

Karaoke continues at Sushi Zanmai

For most people, a whole day of Karaoke would probably be a lifetime overdose. But for Terry and I, it was just warming up for the audience!!! Didn't I tell you we love Karaoke?

So, that night, a bunch of us headed to Sushi Zanmai in Boulder for some sushi and really for the Karaoke Night!

We, of course ordered wayy too much food.

After our last go at the food, it was time for the karaoke. Our group came prepared and asked for the song catalog ahead of time. Sure enough, our group represented by The Dark Knights(Damith, Darshan and Rohit) opened the Karaoke night with "I will Survive!"(though most sung only by Damith). Encouraged by that performance, almost everybody had a go on the stage that night, even Tyler!!

12 am came too quicky and soon Sushi Zanmai kicked us out. But it's OK, we're ready for the next agenda. The one thing I promised Terry we'd do - clubbing!!

The weekend Terry came to visit!

My bestest friend Terry came for a quick visit this weekend while his wife and son are visiting Malaysia. We didn't really do much except for a few of our favorite pastime which are eating, relaxing, karaoke'ing and dancing!!! And playing with Tyler, of course.

Knowing that i love to Karaoke, Terry even brought of his own collection of Chinese songs. So, i basically spent ALL day Saturday singing to some sentimental Chinese songs. Ken, who is also a big Karaoke fan, came by to check out the collection too!

I definitely had my fill of Chinese Karaoke for a while and the best thing is I even have copies of them and i can ANYTIME now!!! Yay!!

Although it's not the first time it has snowed since Tyler was born, this was the first time he willingly participated in "playing in the snow".

This week, we had a little bit of snow and i thought it's time to let Tyler get introduced to snow so that he'll be ready for skiing next year!!!

Andreas Dietrich farewell

A week or two ago, i got a call from Andreas saying he is in town for a few days and wanted to meet up for a quick catch up and to say goodbye as he is moving to Santiago, Chile.

As the crazy week went, the only day we both could make it was on Thursday during badminton. So he came by with his racquet and had one short game.

We went for a meal after badminton and caught up and promised to keep in touch, write and visit! A good excuse to visit Santiago!!! which reminds me, i have to send him this photo!!!

Transiberian Orchestra Concert

To help bring in the Christmas cheer, the full Chandrasekara, Steffen, Darshan and I went to watch the Transiberian Orchestra Concert at the Pepsi Center.

This show came highly recommended, so i was excited and was ready to blown away by incredible music and showmanship. Perhaps, i had set my standard a little high and maybe they were having a bad day because what I got was not exactly my cup of tea. I felt that what they lacked in musical talents, they tried to mask with lots of head banging and laser and strobing light show. (I wonder if people go into fits in these shows)

When Alan called half way thru the show, I even told him it was not worth the drive!!!

But, to give them credit, it did improve tremendously during the last 45 mins of the show and was actually decent and the last pyrotechnics display was impressive!

After the show, we went out for a nice meal at Earl's downtown where Darshan revealed his past life as a thug!! :)

Denver Christkindl Market

As part of exposing us to his German culture, Steffen has been talking our ears off about this "German Christmas Market" in Denver. We figured he wanted us to go see it.

So, on Saturday, we made plans to go visit this so called Denver Christkindl Market. Veronica and Mateo who were spending the day with us, went with us as well. It was a bitterly cold day and since we weren't too prepared, we had to bundle Tyler up in whatever we had. The end result : The homeless kid look!

Anyways, after braving the harsh wintery weather, we had to laugh at Steffen's market which consisted of a few tents put together!! It did have some interesting food stalls. Unfortunately, we had already made plans to go to Los Cabos II for some Peruvian food, so i didn't get to try any "authentic" German food. We did have some Gluhwein which means Wine with Spices while we warmed up in the tent.

OK, so it wasn't the best Weihnachtsmarkt but we're not exactly in Germany either. At least there was a carousel for Tyler. Carousel makes up for anything! (i love carousels if you can't already guess).
