Lesson 4 - Final lesson

So, for our final lesson, we were supposed to work on our final cake. We were going to learn to pipe a rose and some letters and use all that we've learned in the last month for the grand finale.

We were supposed to bring in a frosted cake and work on it in class, but knowing how the class would go, i decided to work on some of the border ahead of time(because that's what A+ students do!!)

This is what i started with

Anyways, since i couldn't decide what icing i was going to use, i ended up using all 3 icings that i know. I filled it with chocolate cream cheese, frosted and bordered it with Italian merengue buttercream(with some lemon zest) and did most decoration in class with the class icing.

After practicing a few times with writing and roses, in class, we spent the rest of the class working on our cake. Here's my cake!!

Ta-da!!

Tyler said it's really pretty and he wants to eat it!!

Some details - though i think i went a little overboard!! ha!!

The inner layers!

Anyways, and since it was my birthday, it did work out well. The kids sang birthday song with me and it was a sweet ending to my lovely day! :)

p.s. i was for sure the best student in the class. I think i redeemed the Asian image!!
