Mother's Day 2012

This year's Mother's Day was a whole weekend celebration, thanks to Alan! :)

Actually, it started on Friday when i got back from work and Tyler told me to shut my eyes and walked me to the dining table and presented roses on the dining table. Both boys were very excited and feeling quite pleased with themselves.

Then on Saturday, we headed out to Chautauqua park's Dining Hall for breakfast. It's one place i've always to check out but never did and my quest for the perfect Huevos Rancheros has finally ended. OK, it's not perfect but it's pretty good! :)

Only 1 child was willing to take a picture with their mommy that morning!

After breakfast, we did a brisk walk around the ranger station before going to get the boys' haircut! And for the first time, Cody did not scream the house down during his haircut! I consider that a gift!! hehe..

After a good nap(including mommy), we headed downtown to go check out the Discover Dinosaurs exhibit. Though the show itself was not spectacular, my kids' faces when they first saw the moving dinos in the fog was priceless! ha!! I had to do my best to convince Cody that it was a toy before he freaked out!

HUH??!

Family pic time!

After that, we went to our favorite middle eastern restaurant for a nice meal. Tyler really enjoyed the pita bread and Cody liked the hummus. Then we headed home for an early night as we have a 5k walk the next morning.

On Mother's Day itself, we woke up bright and early to drive down to the Zoo for the Mother's Day 5k walk/run. It was a chilly morning and we finished our 5k walk in about 1 hr. We then headed to the zoo to make use of our free entry for the day. After lunch, we did a short train ride and visited the kids' favorite animals - giraffes, hippos and polar bear, we headed home for a much needed nap.

As a bonus deal for Mother's Day, Halden came to take me out dancing. It's been quite a few months since i've last danced. So, donned with my new dancing shoes, i hit the salsa dancing floor and had a great night for fun dancing!

So for a "greedy" mommy like myself, i think it was the perfect Mother's Day! :)
